The KC DirtCone is a sand separator that fits perfectly into the bottom of the bucket. DirtCone has close to 300 small cone-shaped cyclones, which ensure that the dirt falls freely to the bottom of the bucket without the dirt remaining on the surface of the sand separator and thus on the paint surface. These cyclones act like one-way valves: the dirt that goes to the bottom of the cyclone can no longer recirculate in the washing water. Without a sand separator, the particles carried into the bucket with the washing mitt can wander freely in the water - and stick to the washing mitt again when it is dipped in the bucket. In this way, the particles are transferred again and again to the washable surface and cause unwanted washing scratches. Unlike traditional sand separators that cause a constant headache, the DirtCone does not fall apart or bounce in the washing bucket, but stays firmly in place, thanks to its one-piece construction.
KC DirtCone binds the particles to the bottom of the bucket and does not allow them to circulate in the wash water. As a result, the washing water in the bucket is significantly cleaner than without a sand separator. Efficient two-bucket technology definitely requires a sand separator, preferably for both buckets.

Lower the sand separator feet first into the bottom of the bucket. When you bring a dirty wash mitt into the wash bucket, rub it against the sand separator, so the dirt comes off the wash mitt and settles to the bottom of the bucket. The cyclones prevent the particles from re-circulating in the bucket.
For best results, use the separator at the bottom of the second bucket containing the detergent as well.
